SO WHAT IS HYBRID TECHNOLOGY?
Harnessing the powers of internal combustion and electricity, hybrid technology combines the best of both worlds. Just like conventional vehicles, hybrid ones have an internal combustion engine that runs on gasoline alongside an electric motor that gets power from a battery pack and can store energy during braking or deceleration and use it to recharge the battery.
Hybrid cars are therefore also called self-charging cars.
HOW DOES A HYBRID CAR WORK?
The engine and electric motor work together or independently, depending on the driving conditions.
At low speeds and stop-start traffic, the battery delivers electric only driving for short distances and provides extra torque. During normal driving, it supplements the engine to save fuel. Regenerative braking charges the battery to extend the electric driving range.
When more power is required or if battery charge is low, the gasoline engine takes over.
WHY CHOOSE A HYBRID?
LOWER EMISSIONS
Hybrid vehicles have less harmful emissions thereby slowing down the progression of global warming and preserving the future of our planet.
NO CHARGING POINTS
Charging points are not required; regenerative braking charges the battery as you drive.
IMPROVED FUEL ECONOMY
Further distance covered with less fuel thereby cutting your fuel costs.
